Super Junior

To kick off the new section called “You Got Schooled” with its first KPOP edition, I present to you the biggest boy band ever. None other than SM Entertainment’s Super Junior.

A group consist of 13 guys and 2 extras including the guys from their subgroups. I shall not go through too much info about this boys since I know most of you know them already or even heard of them. I’m just goin’ through each member since they are a huge boy band and not everyone is known unless you really have a KPOP polluted mind or an ELF for that matter or for some they’re just too many to put names on faces or vice versa.

Super Junior members have participated in different fields since they debuted and the most renowned hit they have is “Sorry, Sorry“.

And to start off this long class…

Park Leeteuk

• Name: Park Jung Soo
• Stage name: Leeteuk which means “Special“
• DOB: July 1,1983 [26/27]
• POB: Seoul, South Korea
• Leader/Singer/Dancer/Actor/Host/MC
• SubGroups: Super Junior T & Super Junior Happy
• He’s the dude that played the “Panda” mascot on SuJu’s movie “Attack on Pin-Up boys.” The oldest and the so-called “Umma” of the group.

Kim HeeChul

• Name: Kim HeeChul
• DOB: July 10,1983 [26/27]
• POB: Hoengseong, Gangwon, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Actor/Host/MC/Model
• SubGroups: Super Junior T
• The so-called “Cinderella” and is said to have a “princess/prince syndrome” . This dude is a narcissist if I may say so myself. He just loves himself too much . Fans gave him the nickname “Heenim“. Also, he is one of those guys that is said to have a more beautiful face than a girl.

Hankyung

• Name: Han Geng
• DOB: February 9, 1984 [25/26]
• POB: Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang, China
• Singer/Dancer/Actor/Model/Leader of Super Junior M
• The Chinese member of the main group.
• He is one of the main dancers in SuJu and is one of the 2 members that frequently performs Chinese Martial arts in their dance routines. Also, known for his skills in Chinese traditional dances from the 55 Chinese ethnic groups. Being one of the most influential Chinese artist in Korea he was chosen as torch bearer during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Also, appeared in Zhang LiYin’s “Timeless” MV along w/Siwon. I personally, adore this dude especially when he has his so-called “Han-moments” or so I called it that. LOL!

Kim Yesung

• Name: Kim Jong Woon
• Stage name: Yesung which means “Art-like voice“
• DOB: August 24, 1984 [25/26]
• POB: Cheonan, South Chuncheong, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Actor/Used-to-be a radio host
• SubGroups: Super Junior K-R-Y & Super Junior Happy
• He is one of the 3 lead vocalists of the group and was currently casted to play Jung Myung Soo in the musical South Korean Mountain Fortress. Nothing much on this dude except for that somewhat resemblance I found between him and DBSK’s Kim Jaejoong’s look during SuJu’s promo for “Sorry, Sorry” & DBSK’s “Wrong Number” & “Mirotic“.

Kim Kangin

• Name: Kim Young Woon
• Stage name: Kangin which means “strong benevolence“
• DOB: January 17, 1985 [24/25]
• POB: Seoul, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Actor/Host/MC
• SubGroups: Super Junior Happy & Super Junior T
• He appeared in “We Got Married” as husband to IDK what’s her face. LOL! & Just cause if I do a search on him I would prolly have DUI and assault case results due to the current controversies his facing. And add to that my deepest apologies cause he’s just one of the guys in my “not-so-likeable-KPOP-idol” list.

Shindong

• Name: Shin Dong hee
• Stage name: Shindong
• DOB: September 28, 1985 [24/25]
• POB: Myungyeong, North Gyeongsang, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Rapper/Actor/Host/MC
• SubGroups: Super Junior Happy & Super Junior T
• He is one of the 4 lead dancers amongst the group. A rapper and often co-writes lyrics & rhythms w/band mate Eunhyuk. I find this dude cute-in-a-not-fangirl-way just human-cute-he-can-be-a-bear way. LOL! I’m amazed by how fans photoshoped him loosing weight. It’s just amazing and pure fun. But I must say despite him bein’ “chubby” this dude can “Dance like MJ!”.

Lee Sungmin

• Name: Lee Sungmin
• DOB: January 1,1986 [23/24]
• POB: Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Actor/Host
• SubGroups: Super Junior T & Super Junior Happy
• He is one of the 4 lead dancers of the group and the one who performs Chinese Martial arts in dance routines along w/Hankyung. I find him funny and cute and he’s one of those so-called “Girly boys” in my list. LOL!

Lee Eunhyuk

• Name: Lee Hyukjae
• Stage name: Eunhyuk which means “silver“
• DOB: April 4,1986 [24/25]
• POB: Neungguk, Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Rapper/Actor/Host/MC
• SubGroups: Super Junior T & Super Junior Happy
• He’s the lead rapper and one of the 4 lead dancers in the group. I don’t really have much on him. But I find him funny.

Lee Donghae

• Chinese stage name: Donghai
• DOB: October 15, 1986 [24/25]
• POB: Mokpo, Jeollanam, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Actor
• SubGroups: Super Junior M
• One of the 4 lead dancers of the group and also one of the first 4 Korean artists to appear in Chinese postage stamps. He also appeared in Chinese Artists’ Ariel Lin’s “Butterfly” MV along w/Siwon. Now,this dude right here is my fave. I just adore him so bad. That yeah I kinda get speechless. LOL! My Fishy <3

Choi Siwon

• Name: Choi Siwon
• Chinese stage name: Shiyuan
• DOB: February 10,1987 [22/23]
• POB: Seoul, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Actor/Model
• SubGroups: Super Junior M
• He is one of the first 4 Korean artists to appear in Chinese postage stamps. He is known to be the religious one amongst the group. Raised in a strict Protestant family. He’s the one I called “Mr.Gesture” just cause everything he does there’s always gonna be a hand gesture. LOL! He is best noted for playing the young prince, Liang Shi in the 2006 Hong Kong historical action film, A Battle of Wits. Also, he appeared on Ariel Lin’s “Butterfly” MV w/Donghae and Zhang LiYin’s “Timeless” MV along w/Hankyung. Not much on this dude although he has a great body but I’m still contented on Tae’s body you know. Gotta love thy own Husband

Kim Ryeowook

• Name: Kim Ryeowook
• Chinese stage name: Lixuan
• DOB: June 21,1987 [22/23]
• POB: Incheon, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Actor/Song-writter
• SubGroups: Super Junior M & Super Junior K-R-Y
• He is one of the 3 lead vocalists of the group and one of the first 4 Korean artists to appear in Chinese postage stamps. Nothing much on this dude except that I find his voice somewhat “girly” and that’s he’s a “softie”

Kim Kibum

• Name: Kim Kibum
• DOB: August 21, 1987
• POB: Seoul, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer/Rapper/Actor/Model
• He is considered as the face of SuJu during their debut years IMO that is since he is such a cutie. He appeared on variety shows and does a lot of CFs. He is considered to be a Korean American since he moved to LA when he was 10. I like him just cause he was cute but IDK what happened to the “cutie Kibum” now that there are alot of “cutie Kibum” appearing. Kibummie~ah comeback! LOL!

Cho Kyuhyun

• Name: Cho Kyuhyun
• Chinese stage name: Kuixian
• DOB: February 3, 1988
• POB: Seoul, South Korea
• Singer/Dancer
• SubGroups: Super Junior M & Super Junior K-R-Y
• He was the last one to join the group and one of the 3 lead vocalists. Also, one of the first 4 Korean artists to appear in Chinese postage stamps. Noted for his voice and sad as it may sound I still remember him bein’ absent in SuJu after being involved in a car accident. He was the one badly injured that it took him almost a year to fully recover. He’s cute though.

And since the they have a large number, SM decided to put them into subgroups.

I don’t have much that info on the subgroups besides that T, focuses on TROT, KRY for ballads and known for powerful vocals, Happy for IDK what while M on the Chinese market.

There are 2 extra members in consideration with the subgroups. Although, everyone insist that SuJu is only 13.

But just cause, alot of people don’t know them except for their Chinese fans and some avid ELFs.

Henry Lau

• Name: Henry Lau / Liu Xian Hua
• Stage name: Henry
• DOB: October 11,1989
• Super Junior M
• I don’t know much about him all I know is he’s the “Violin Boy“. And if y’all remember the “Don’t Don“ perf. he was the one doing that violin solo.

Zhoumi

• Name: Zhoumi
• Korean stage name: Jumyuk
• DOB: April 19,1986
• Super Junior M
• I don’t know much about him either. Since I’m neither an ELF or a Super Junior M fan. But for some reason he looks like a younger version of Kangta. o_O!
